Eagles cut veteran LB SpikesPhiladelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Eagles released two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Takeo Spikes on Thursday. A 10-year NFL veteran, Spikes spent the 2007 season with the Eagles after being acquired in a trade with the Buffalo Bills. He finished second on the team with 139 tackles and also had one sack in 14 games.
Spikes missed the final two games of the season after he was placed on injured
reserve with a torn rotator cuff. Spikes was originally a first round draft choice of Cincinnati in 1998 and spent his first five NFL campaigns with the Bengals before signing with the Bills in 2003.
