Giants beef up defensive line with addition of Wynn


East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - The Super Bowl champion New York Giants signed veteran defensive lineman Renaldo Wynn on Monday.

The Notre Dame product was drafted in the first round by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 1997, spending five years with the Jags before a five-year stint with the Washington Redskins.

The 33-year old versatile lineman signed as a free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2007, recording 13 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks in 12 games. Over his 11- year career, Wynn has complied 323 tackles with 25 sacks and six forced fumbles in 164 games.

The Giants also placed linebacker Keith O'Neil on their reserve/retired list. O'Neil joined the team on February 18.
