Jags re-sign OL WilliamsJacksonville, FL (Sports Network) - The Jacksonville Jaguars re-signed offensive lineman Maurice Williams on Thursday. Williams, picked in the second round by the Jaguars in the 2001 draft, started 85 games at right tackle over his first six NFL seasons before being replaced by free agent Tony Pashos in 2007.
Williams slid over to right guard halfway through last season, starting the
final eight games of the year after incumbent starter Chris Naeole went down
with a season-ending knee injury. Naeole was released by the Jaguars Monday,
paving the way for Williams to inherit the starting job in the upcoming
season.
