Panthers lose a pair of tackles in winCharlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Carolina Panthers left tackle Jordan Gross and right tackle Jeff Otah left Sunday's 24-9 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. With 9:45 left to play in the first, Gross suffered a concussion trying to block for DeAngelo Williams. At the end of the play Gross was seen laying face down on the field.
It appeared that the tackle was kneed in the head by a defender. A stretcher
was sent on the field for Gross but he waved it off and departed on the
back of a cart, pumping his fist to rile up the crowd on his way to the
locker room. Carolina moved Travelle Wharton to left tackle and Geoff Hangartner came in to play left guard. With 2:26 left in the third quarter, Otah injured his ankle and did not return.
