Rams cut CB Brown; sign CB Craft

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The St. Louis Rams released cornerback Fakhir Brown on Wednesday.

A nine-year veteran, Brown started for St. Louis the past two seasons but was hampered by a shoulder injury this year and was also suspended four games last season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

Brown has eight tackles in three games this season.

Over his NFL career, which included stints with San Diego and New Orleans, he has totaled 335 tackles and 10 interceptions in 103 games.

In a corresponding move, the Rams signed cornerback Jason Craft, who was released by the New Orleans Saints last week.

In 10 seasons in the NFL, five with Jacksonville and five with New Orleans, he has appeared in 135 games and has 367 tackles and 13 interceptions.
