Report: Cowboys give CB Newman extensionDallas, TX (Sports Network) - Cornerback Terence Newman reportedly has agreed to a six-year, $50.2 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Morning News reported Tuesday on the deal, which it says will pay Newman $22.5 million guaranteed over the first three years.
The team's top pick and fifth choice overall in the 2003 NFL Draft has career
totals of 344 tackles, two sacks and 16 interceptions in five seasons. The 29-
year-old earned his first Pro Bowl selection in 2007 with 50 tackles, 13
passes defended and four interceptions. Newman played four seasons at Kansas State and was named the Thorpe Award Winner as the nation's top defensive back in his senior season.
