Stecker, Henderson remain with SaintsNew Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Running back Aaron Stecker and wide receiver Devery Henderson will remain in New Orleans for next season after coming to terms on deals Saturday. The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports Stecker's deal is for one year and $1.4 million. The newspaper reports Ronald Slavin, Stecker's agent, said the running back was offered a deal with Tampa Bay, but he chose to remain in New Orleans.
Stecker rushed 115 times for 448 yards and five touchdowns last season, while
catching 36 passes for 211 yards. Henderson, who will go into next season with a chance to compete for a starting position, had 20 receptions for 409 yards and three TDs last season. The Saints also terminated the contract of linebacker Brian Simmons on Saturday. He became expendable when the Saints traded for Jonathan Vilma from the Jets on Friday and re-signed Mark Simoneau.
