Walker signs with PanthersCharlotte, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Panthers signed defensive tackle Darwin Walker to a one-year contract on Monday. According to a Charlotte newspaper, the deal may be worth more than $1 million with incentives.
Walker was hampered by injuries in 2007, playing in only 11 games, while
registering 17 tackles and one sack for the Chicago Bears. The 31-year-old South Carolina native spent the previous six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, playing in 87 games. He posted a career-best in tackles with 42 in 2003, while being credited with a career-best 7 1/2 sacks in 2002. Walker is expected to move alongside Maake Kemoeatu and Damione Lewis.
