Brookside Country Club has yielded low scores for two days.

There were 16 players within five shots of Bland's lead, and 116 who finished two rounds at even-par or better. Only 64 of them made the cut, which was set at five-under.

Bland, a two-time winner on the Canadian Tour last year, tied for 46th at the 2008 season-opener last week. He has also made starts on the European and Nationwide Tours this season.

Defending champion Wes Heffernan, who set the tournament scoring record last year with a 20-under-par 268 total, shot a 69 on Friday and was part of a 21- way tie for 23rd place at seven-under 137.
