Bland shoots 64 to lead in CaliforniaStockton, CA (Sports Network) - Adam Bland fired an eight-under 64 on Friday to take the second-round lead at the Canadian Tour's Stockton Sports Commission Classic. Bland was at 14-under 130 for a two-shot cushion over first-round leader Kevin Kim, who had a 68. John Ellis (65) was third at 11-under 133, with five players knotted in fourth place at 10-under 134. Brookside Country Club has yielded low scores for two days. There were 16 players within five shots of Bland's lead, and 116 who finished two rounds at even-par or better. Only 64 of them made the cut, which was set at five-under. Bland, a two-time winner on the Canadian Tour last year, tied for 46th at the 2008 season-opener last week. He has also made starts on the European and Nationwide Tours this season. Defending champion Wes Heffernan, who set the tournament scoring record last year with a 20-under-par 268 total, shot a 69 on Friday and was part of a 21- way tie for 23rd place at seven-under 137.
