Choi and Stricker named to Exelon field

Trenton, NJ (Sports Network) - Steve Stricker and K.J. Choi, the fourth and sixth-ranked players in the world respectively, will be participating in this year's Exelon Invitational, joining tournament host Jim Furyk at the ACE Club in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.

Stricker, who tied for 11th last week in Houston, has posted seven top-15 finishes this season, including a runner-up placing at the Mercedes-Benz Championship. The 2006 and 2007 PGA Tour "Comeback Player of the Year," Stricker stands seventh on the current money list.

Choi posted his seventh career PGA Tour title earlier this season in Hawaii and has six top-15 finishes this year. Both Stricker and Choi will be competing at this event for the first time.

"Steve and K.J. are two of the hottest players on Tour right now," commented Furyk. "Steve had nine top-ten finishes in 2007 and has carried over his strong play into 2008. K.J. also had a great 2007 and got off to solid start this year with his win at the Sony Open."

Furyk, who ranks seventh in the latest world rankings, has recorded a pair of top-five results this year, including a tie for second at the WGC - CA Championship.

One more spot remains to be filled for this four-ball match on June 2, 2008.

This is the 10th edition of the Exelon Invitational and some of the past participants include Phil Mickelson, John Daly, Sergio Garcia, Retief Goosen, Padraig Harrington, Davis Love III, Adam Scott and Vijay Singh.

Goosen and Harrington defeated the team of Furyk and Charles Howell III last year, 2 & 1.

Since its inception, the tournament has raised over $950,000 for charity, some of which benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia.
