Ellis one round away from back-to-back winsMazatlan, Mexico (Sports Network) - John Ellis only managed a one-under 71 on Saturday, but it was enough to extend his lead to four after three rounds of the Mazatlan Mexican PGA Championship. Ellis finished 54 holes at 14-under 202 and is four clear of Adam Bland at El Cid Golf & Country Club. If Ellis can hang on Sunday, he will become the first player to win consecutive Canadian Tour events since Spencer Levin turned the trick in May and June of last year. Bland posted a six-under 66 on Saturday to get into second. He is one shot ahead of Stuart Anderson (63), Oscar Fraustro (66) and Tom Stankowski (67). That trio came in at nine-under 207. Conner Robbins (66), Jose Trauwitz (67), Kwang-Soo Yoon (67), Adam Speirs (69) and Wes Heffernan (74) share sixth place at minus-eight.
