Tommy Barber fired a six-under 66 -- the best round of the day -- and was one shot behind the co-leaders at 12-under 204.

Andrew Parr (67), Stephen Gangluff (69), Eugene Smith (70), Byron Smith (70) and Conner Robbins (71) were another stroke further back at 11-under 205.

There were 23 players separated by just five shots at the top of the leaderboard.

Bland, a two-time winner on the Canadian Tour last year, tied for 46th at the 2008 season-opener last week and has also made starts on the European and Nationwide Tours this season.

Ellis will be seeking his first Canadian Tour win on Sunday.
