Geary rallies for Saskatchewan Open titleSaskatoon, SK (Sports Network) - Josh Geary birdied the final hole Sunday to cap a round of six-under 66, which gave him a one-shot win at the Saskatchewan Open. Geary trailed by five to start the round, but came from behind to finish at 17-under-par 271, one stroke clear of third-round leader George Bradford.
Bradford finished alone in second place at minus-16 after an even-par 72.
James Love took third at 15-under-par 273 after closing with a five-under 67. Geary got his round going with a birdie on the second, but fell down the leaderboard with consecutive bogeys from the third at Dakota Dunes Golf Links. His rally started with a birdie on the sixth. Geary came right back with an eagle on the par-five seventh. He parred four straight around the turn. Geary flew up the leaderboard with three straight birdies from the par-four 12th. After three pars, Geary birdied the last to secure his first tour win. Bradford traded a birdie for a bogey from the second. He birdied the seventh to move to 17-under. After six bogeys in a row, Bradford faltered to bogeys on 14 and 15. He recovered one stroke with a birdie on 16, but could only par the final two holes to end one back. Clayton Rask and Luke Swilor both fired rounds of nine-under 63 to soar into a share of fourth place at 14-under-par 274. They was joined there by Stuart Anderson (68), JC Deacon (70), Dale Vallely (68) and Ron Grube (71).
