Kribel takes lead at Spring InternationalModesto, CA (Sports Network) - Joel Kribel fired a seven-under 65 in the second round on Friday to take the lead at the Canadian Tour's 2008 season- opener. Kribel, playing on a sponsor's exemption, reached 12-under 132 for a one-shot lead at the $100,000 Spring International. Brent Schwarzrock, a first round co-leader, shot a five-under 67 on Friday to slip into second place at 11-under 133. Antonio Maldonado, who shared the overnight lead with Schwarzrock, had a 69 and was in third place at nine-under 135. Steve Conway (67) sat in fourth place at eight-under 136, with Joseph Lanza (69) and Troy Kelly (68) another shot further back at 137. Overall, there were 24 players separated by eight shots at the top of the leaderboard heading into the weekend at Del Rio Country Club. The 36-hole cut fell at even-par 144. Defending champion Adam Bland made the weekend one shot under the cut line.
