Lindley tops Jang in playoff at Corning Classic

Corning, NY (Sports Network) - Leta Lindley rolled in a birdie putt on the first playoff hole Sunday to defeat Jeong Jang and collect her first LPGA Tour title at the Corning Classic.

Lindley closed with a five-under 67, while Jang carded a four-under 68 in the final round. The duo finished at 11-under-par 277.

They headed back to the 18th at Corning Country Club for the extra session. Lindley converted a birdie putt there to earn the title.

Mi Hyun Kim and Sun Young Yoo both fired rounds of six-under 66 to share third at 10-under-par 278.

Jang shared the lead entering the final round with Erica Blasberg, who stumbled to a seven-over 79 and fell into a share of 37th at even-par 288.

This is the second time this year Blasberg struggled in the final group. She shared the lead with Annika Sorenstam entering the final round of the SBS Open at Turtle Bay and closed with a two-over 74 to drop into a share of eighth.
