Ochoa nearly doubles up Sorenstam in world rankings

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Lorena Ochoa won her second career major championship on Sunday -- and second in a row -- to nearly double up Annika Sorenstam in the latest world rankings for women's golf.

Ochoa's victory at the Kraft Nabisco Championship gave her 18.68 average points in the No. 1 slot, 9.07 points more than the second-ranked Sorenstam's 9.61 total.

To put that into perspective, world No. 3 Suzann Pettersen, who tied for second place alongside Sorenstam on Sunday, has just 8.18 average points -- fewer than Ochoa's lead at the top.

Paula Creamer was fourth in the rankings again, followed by Karrie Webb, Cristie Kerr and Ji-Yai Shin, who also held onto their positions from last week.

Jee Young Lee was up one place to eighth, dropping Jeong Jang down to ninth, while Mi Hyun Kim remained 10th.

Momoko Ueda and Se-Ri Pak moved up two spots apiece, knocking Morgan Pressel down one to 13th and dropping Juli Inkster three places to 14th. Maria Hjorth was up four spots to 15th and Sakura Yokomine advanced one to 16th, knocking Stacy Prammanasudh and Yuri Fudoh down two places each to 17th and 18th.

Seon-Hwa Lee was up five spots to 19th and Natalie Gulbis moved up three to 20th, while Ai Miyazato and Brittany Lincicome dropped out of the top 20.
