Risdon defeats Bradford in playoffCalgary, Alberta (Sports Network) - Dustin Risdon managed just a one-under 70 Sunday, then birdied the first playoff hole to defeat George Bradford and win the ATB Financial Classic at Cottonwood Golf and Country Club. Bradford fired an eight-under 63 to join Risdon at 20-under-par 264. They tied the tournament scoring record that Mike Grob set last year.
The duo returned to the 18th hole for the playoff and Risdon quickly ended the
extra session with a birdie for his second Canadian Tour win. Andy Walker, Josh Habig, Steve Conway and Ricky Romano all closed with rounds of six-under 65 to end in a share of third at 19-under-par 265. They were joined there by Kris Wasylowich, who carded a 68 on Sunday. Bradford eagled the par-five first, then ran off four birdies in a five-hole span from the third to jump to 18-under. Around the turn, he also made eagle on the par-five 10th. After giving a shot back with a bogey on the 12th, Bradford birdied the 15th to get back to 20-under. He parred the last three to end there. Risdon traded a birdie for a bogey from the first. He converted back-to-back birdies from the ninth to move to 21-under. He fell back to minus-19, however, with bogeys on 14 and 15. Risdon was able to birdie the par-three 17th to force the playoff. Mike Grob, the 2007 champion, ended at 18-under-par 266 after a final-round 66. He was joined in eighth place by Jordan Krantz, Mike Sica and Clint Rice.
