Weekley repeats as Heritage championHilton Head Island, SC (Sports Network) - Boo Weekley didn't play his best, but that's not why they were booing him. Cheered all day with a hearty and ironic chorus of his first name, Weekley shot an even-par 71 on Sunday to successfully defend his title at the Verizon Heritage. Weekley holed two shots from off the green on the back nine, both times for birdie, and did enough to fend off Anthony Kim and Aaron Baddeley for a three- shot win. It was a rarity: The shoo-in champion walking up the 18th fairway with little else to be heard but the gallery's steady "Boos!" Weekley is getting used to that. He became the first back-to-back Heritage champion since David Love III, a five-time winner, won in 1991-92. Weekley protected his three-shot overnight lead despite an erratic even-par performance at Harbour Town. "I reckon everyone else must have struggled a little bit today," said Weekley, who finished at 15-under 269. Kim, who started the round in second place, remained there after also closing with an even-par 71 that included a double-bogey six at the ninth hole. It was his second top-five finish of the season. Baddeley joined Kim at 12-under 272 after shooting a two-under 69 in the final round, a pair of late bogeys giving him his best finish of the year. Jim Furyk also posted a 69 to finish in fourth place at 11-under 273, with Cliff Kresge (71) another shot further back at 10-under 274. Jason Bohn had a 72 and was sixth at nine-under 275.
