Winds of change headed for AugustaAugusta, GA (Sports Network) - Outside of the fog to start Thursday's opening round, the weather has been perfect at The Masters this week. Friday's weather is more of what players saw Thursday afternoon with lots of sun and temperatures in the 80s.
But there is change on the way. According to weather.com, there is a 50-percent chance of rain and thunderstorms early Saturday. After the storms pass through, the wind is expected to change direction and become gusty. Along with the chance of precipitation, temperatures are expected to cool into the mid-70s for Saturday's third round. Saturday's weather issues are expected to come between 9:00 a.m. (et) and 3:00 p.m., when the bulk of the field will be teeing off. After Saturday's weather blows through, temperatures on Sunday are forecast to stay in the mid-60s and it is expected to be mostly cloudy. With the fog delay on Thursday and the chance of stoppages on Saturday, the last time The Masters was delayed twice in one week was in 2005 when play was halted on Thursday and Friday by storms.
