Woods beats Mediate on 19th playoff hole to win U.S. OpenLa Jolla, CA (Sports Network) - Tiger Woods made par on the 19th hole of a playoff Monday to beat Rocco Mediate and win his third U.S. Open title. Woods birdied the 18th hole to send the scheduled 18-hole playoff to sudden- death.
