Blue Jackets sign LW York

Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets signed left wing Mike York to a one-year contract on Friday. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.

York, 30, tallied six goals and eight assists in 63 games last season for Phoenix. The Waterford, Michigan, native was named to the All-Rookie squad in 1999-2000 with a 26-goal, 50-point effort for the Rangers. Two years later he registered a career-high 57 points in 81 games for the Rangers and Oilers and was selected to the 2002 NHL All-Star Game. The former sixth-round choice of the Rangers in the 1997 NHL Draft was dealt along with Edmonton's fourth round pick in 2006 to the Islanders for Michael Peca in August 2005.

In 578 career games, York has netted 127 goals and notched 195 assists for 322 points with the Rangers, Oilers, Islanders, Flyers and Coyotes.
