Blues' D Johnson out indefinitelySt. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The St. Louis Blues announced Tuesday that defenseman Erik Johnson will be sidelined indefinitely with injuries to his right knee. Johnson consulted with Blues orthopedic surgeon Dr. Rick Wright and Dr. Tony Miniacci in Cleveland, where it was determined the Minnesota native tore both his ACL and MCL in a non-hockey related incident.
Last week, Blues president John Davidson said the 20-year-old would miss the
first three days of training camp. The first overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Johnson enjoyed a solid rookie campaign in 2007-08, registering five goals and 33 points in 69 games for the Blues, who went 33-36-13 to finish last in the Central Division.
