Blues re-sign Stastny

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - St. Louis Blues president John Davidson announced Thursday that the club has re-signed forward Yan Stastny to a two- year deal.

The 25-year-old Stastny skated in 12 games with the Blues last season, recording a goal and an assist. He is the son of Hall of Famer Peter Stastny and his younger brother Paul is a member of the Colorado Avalanche.

Originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in the eighth-round (259th overall) in 2002, Stastny has two goals and eight points in 53 career games with Edmonton, Boston and St. Louis.

His father concluded his career with the Blues in 1995 and they're the second father-son combination to play for the franchise. Bob and Brent Johnson were the first.
