Blues trade veteran Mayers to Toronto for third-round pick

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - St. Louis traded longtime Blues forward Jamal Mayers to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a third-round pick in Friday's draft, the club announced late Thursday night.

Mayers, who is a Toronto native, spent his entire 10-year career in St. Louis, compiling 71 goals, 158 points and 756 penalty minutes in 595 games.

The Blues will receive the 70th overall selection in the draft.

"I want to thank Jamal for everything he has done for the Blues and the city of St. Louis," said Blues president John Davidson. "We wish Jamal and his family nothing but the best in his hometown of Toronto."
