Bruins buy out last year of Glen Murray's contractBoston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins announced Saturday that they have bought out the final year of forward Glen Murray's contract, making the veteran winger an unrestricted free agent. Murray, 35, scored 17 goals and tallied 13 assists in 63 games for the Bruins last season. Overall he has scored 337 goals and added 314 assists in his 16- season NHL career. Murray has played 1,009 regular season games with the Bruins, Los Angeles Kings and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
This was Murray's second stint with the Bruins. Selected 18th overall in the
1991 draft by the club, he entered the league with the Bruins in the 1991-92
season. Murray spent four seasons with Boston initially, and returned to the
club for the 2001-02 season.
