Bruins sign Nokelainen to multi-year deal

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins signed forward Petteri Nokelainen to a multi-year contract Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Nokelainen posted seven goals and 10 points in 57 games for the Bruins last season.

Boston acquired Nokelainen from the New York Islanders in exchange for prospect Ben Walter and a conditional second-round draft choice in 2009 back in September.

The 22-year-old Finn was selected 16th overall by the Islanders in the 2004 draft. He picked up a goal and two points in 15 games for the Isles in 2005-06 -- his only previous NHL action.
