Hansbrough to return; Lawson, Ellington declare for draft

Winston Salem, NC (Sports Network) - North Carolina star forward Tyler Hansbrough will return to the school for his senior season, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

However, sophomore guards Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington will declare for the NBA draft. Both Lawson and Ellington will not hire agents, however, leaving open the possibility of a return to UNC.

Hansbrough, a 6-foot-9 forward, averaged 22.6 points and 10.2 rebounds en route to winning National player of the Year honors as the Tar Heels (36-3) reached the Final Four before losing to eventual national champion Kansas.

Ellington averaged 16.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game last season, while Lawson tallied 12.9 points and 5.5 assists per contest.
