Devils re-sign Pandolfo, three others

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - The New Jersey Devils re-signed forward Jay Pandolfo and three others on Tuesday.

Pandolfo will enter his 12th NHL season, all with the Devils. The defensive stalwart notched 12 goals and 12 assists in 54 games last season.

"We're delighted," said Devils president, CEO and general manager Lou Lamoriello. "He wanted to be back, and we wanted him back."

The 33-year-old native of Winchester, Massachusetts has compiled 90 goals with 114 assists for 204 points in 706 regular-season games. He also has 10 goals and 22 assists in 124 playoff games, helping the Devils win Stanley Cup titles in 2000 and 2003.

Also re-signing with the Devils on Tuesday were defenseman Bryce Salvador and forwards David Clarkson and Barry Tallackson.

Salvador, acquired by the Devils in a deadline deal with St. Louis in February, appeared in eight games and did not register a point for New Jersey after the trade, but registered one goal in five playoff games. He finished the regular season with totals of one goal and 10 assists in 64 games with the Devils and Blues.

The 33-year-old native of Manitoba has 16 goals and 47 assists in 455 NHL games since his debut with St. Louis during the 2000-01 season.

Clarkson posted nine goals and 13 assists in 81 games last season, his first full campaign in the NHL. The 24-year-old native of Toronto also led the club in penalty minutes with 183.

Tallackson, selected by the Devils with the 53rd overall pick of the 2002 draft, completed his third pro season in 2007-08. The 25-year-old native of North Dakota appeared in just three games with the Devils last season, but collected 22 goals and 23 assists for the club's AHL affiliate in Lowell.
