Five different Ducks score as Anaheim rolls over NashvilleAnaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Ryan Getzlaf and Chris Kunitz had a goal and an assist each to help the Anaheim Ducks down the Nashville Predators, 5-2, at the Honda Center. Corey Perry added a goal and a helper as well, while Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 20 stops for Anaheim, which has won three of four.
Marek Zidlicky had a goal and assist and J.P. Dumont also scored for
the Predators, who had won three in a row coming in. Dan Ellis finished with
32 saves between the pipes. Nashville started the scoring, thanks to a power-play marker by Zidlicky 4:59 into the contest. The Ducks, though, lashed back with four straight markers to assume command. "We started the second period and turned the puck over. They crashed the net and scored," said Nashville head coach Barry Trotz. Travis Moen's rebound putback evened the contest just 42 ticks into the second, and Kunitz followed suit with a backhander at the right side of the cage only 1:09 later for a 2-1 Anaheim lead. "In the first period we weren't playing well. We came out in the second period and got our game back," Moen said. The Ducks finished the high-octane second period with a pair of power-play goals -- 1:10 apart, and the first on a 5-on-3 advantage -- to make it a three-goal edge. The first came off the stick of Chris Pronger, who lit the lamp with a slapshot from the point that deflected off a defenseman in front before finding the back of the net. Then Perry finished off a cross-crease feed from Kunitz for a 4-1 lead. A one-timer by Dumont from the doorstep 4:11 into the third brought Nashville within two, but Getzlaf countered with a goal of his own to put any thoughts of a comeback to rest. Game Notes Getzlaf has a point in eight straight games...Anaheim has won seven straight at home against the Preds...Nashville played the first of three in a row on the road. The club is 8-12-1 as the visiting team this year...The Ducks played the first of four in a row at home, where they are 13-6-4 and have won three straight.
