Flyers ink pair of draft picksPhiladelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers signed forward Andreas Nodl and defenseman Michael Ratchuk to entry-level contracts on Friday. Nodl, the club's 39th overall pick in 2006, tallied 18 goals and 44 points in 40 games for St. Cloud State in 2007-2008. He finishes his two-year collegiate career with 36 goals and 90 points in 80 contests.
Ratchuk was another Flyers' second-round choice (42nd overall) two seasons
ago. The 20-year-old backliner compiled six goals and 25 points this year for
Michigan State, and amassed 10 goals and 37 points in 82 total games over two
years with the Spartans, winning a national title in 2007. Both players will report to the Phantoms, the club's American Hockey League affiliate.
