Frolik in the fold for FloridaSunrise, FL (Sports Network) - The Florida Panthers have come to terms on an entry-level contract with forward Michael Frolik, their first-round draft pick (10th overall) from 2006. The 20-year-old Frolik played in 45 games with Rimouski in the Quebec Major- Junior Hockey League this past season, compiling 24 goals and 41 assists. It was his second full season with Rimouski, after a 31-goal, 42-assist performance in 52 contests in his first campaign.
"Michael is a very skilled and talented young prospect with good hockey sense
and playmaking ability," Panthers general manager Jacques Martin said.
"Michael has had two strong seasons with Rimouski and he is ready to compete
for and earn a spot on our roster. He is the last of our 2006 draft picks to
be signed and he is part of the great nucleus of young talented players we
have entering the professional level this fall."
