Hurricanes sign LaRose

Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes signed forward Chad LaRose to a one-year contract, the club announced Wednesday.

The deal will pay $875,000 for the upcoming season.

LaRose, 26, has spent all of his first three NHL seasons with Carolina after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2003. Last season, in 58 games, LaRose scored a career-high 11 goals and added 12 assists. In 187 career games, he has 18 goals and 36 assists.
