Isles' DiPietro has knee sprain

Ottawa, ON (Sports Network) - New York Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro has a knee sprain and will miss Thursday night's contest against the Ottawa Senators.

DiPietro was forced to leave Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win against Toronto due to the injury, which was revealed after an MRI on Thursday.

DiPietro entered Wednesday's game with a 16-13-2 record and a 2.47 goals- against average with two shutouts for the Islanders this season. For his career, he is 106-94-8-16 with 13 shutouts.

Wade Dubielewicz, who replaced DiPietro on Wednesday in net, is expected to start in goal on Thursday. The club recalled Joey MacDonald from Bridgeport of the AHL to serve as backup.
