Kings place Johnson on IR; claim QuinceyLos Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Kings placed defenseman Jack Johnson on injured reserve Monday and also claimed defenseman Kyle Quincey off waivers from Detroit. Johnson suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday's 1-0 loss to the San Jose Sharks, and after surgery, is expected to miss 2-to-3 months.
To fill the roster spot, the Kings claimed defenseman Kyle Quincey in a waiver
deal from the Red Wings. Johnson had yet to record a point in two games this season, but has registered three goals and 11 points in 81 games over parts of three years with Los Angeles. Quincey has just one goal in 13 career games, all with Detroit, from 2005-08.
