Lightning F Lecavalier leaves game

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Tampa Bay Lightning forward Vincent Lecavalier left Thursday's game against Washington in the third period with a right shoulder injury and did not return.

The injury occurred when Lecavalier was on the receiving end of an open-ice hit by Matt Cooke. The Tampa Bay alternate captain did not have possession of the puck when he was checked and no penalty was called on the play.

Lecavalier leads the club in goals (40) and points (92).
