Lightning buy out contract of goaltender DenisTampa, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Lightning bought out the contract of goaltender Marc Denis with one year remaining in his deal, the team announced Wednesday. In two seasons with the Lightning, Denis posted an 18-23-1 record in 54 games with a 3.32 goals-against average and an .879 save percentage. He played just 10 games last season with a 1-5-0 record and a 4.05 GAA.
"Needless to say, we are all sorry things didn't work out differently for Marc
with our organization," general manager Jay Feaster said. "To his credit, Marc
has been the ultimate professional to the very end, handling this news with
the same dignity and grace as he has handled everything that has happened
during his tenure in Tampa. We wish him nothing but success as he moves
forward with his career." Over 10 seasons in the NHL, which has included stints with Colorado and Columbus, he has appeared in 348 games and has a record of 112-179-28-3 with 16 shutouts and a 3.02 GAA.
