Lightning sign tough guy Koci

Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed left wing David Koci to a one-year contract.

Financial terms of the two-way deal were not disclosed.

Koci appeared in 18 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season and did not register a point while accumulating 68 penalty minutes. In 27 games over two seasons with Chicago, he had no points with 156 penalty minutes.

The 26-year-old native of the Czech Republic also racked up 223 penalty minutes with one assist in 44 games with Norfolk of the AHL last season.
