Modano nets winner as Stars finally outshine Wings, force Game 5


Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Mike Modano's third-period power-play goal proved to be the game-winner, as the Dallas Stars staved off elimination with a 3-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals at American Airlines Center.

Loui Eriksson and Brenden Morrow also scored for the Stars, who trail the series, 3-1. Sergei Zubov collected two assists, while Marty Turco stopped 33- of-34 shots to earn the win.

Henrik Zetterberg lit the lamp for the Red Wings, who had won nine straight playoff games, the best streak in a single season in franchise history.

Chris Osgood allowed three goals on 22 shots to record his first loss in the postseason.

Game 5 of this series will take place in Detroit on Saturday afternoon.
