Oilers' Moreau to miss rest of seasonToronto, ON (Sports Network) - Edmonton Oilers captain Ethan Moreau will miss the rest of the season with a broken left ankle, according to TSN of Canada. Moreau suffered the injury on Sunday night in the closing seconds of Edmonton's 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche. The forward was along the side boards when he twisted his ankle in an awkward fashion.
Moreau was able to finish his shift but needed assistance getting to the
Oilers' medical room immediately following the game. He was then taken to the
hospital and x-rays revealed the break. The oft-injured Moreau also missed most of the 2006-07 season after dislocating his shoulder. The veteran has recorded 122 goals and 111 assists in 710 career NHL games over parts of 12 seasons with the Oilers and Chicago Blackhawks.
