Paille staying in Buffalo

Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres gave forward Daniel Paille a new multi-year contract on Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Paille, a 6-foot-1, 197-pound native of Welland, Ontario, played in 77 games last season with the Sabres, posting 19 goals and 16 assists.

"Danny is a talented young player that can make a difference at both ends of the ice," said general manager Darcy Regier. "Danny has been a key component to our penalty unit and we look forward to helping him continue to develop with our clubs for years to come."

Overall in his NHL career, Paille has 49 points in 120 games after being taken by the Sabres in the first round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
