Pens' Kennedy out with mononucleosis

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Pittsburgh Penguins forward Tyler Kennedy is out indefinitely with mononucleosis, the team announced Wednesday.

Kennedy, who has scored eight goals and recorded 12 points in 31 games thus far, will miss the upcoming YoungStars Game at the NHL All-Star Weekend in Atlanta. He has already missed the last two games due to the illness and will not play in Philadelphia on Thursday in the club's last game before the break.

Penguins coach Michel Therrien also said Wednesday that injured right wing Colby Armstrong will play against the Flyers on Thursday. Armstrong missed Monday's shootout loss to Washington with a hip injury.
