Report: Boyle waives no-trade clause, headed to San JoseToronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reportedly agreed to trade veteran defenseman Dan Boyle to the San Jose Sharks. According to TSN of Canada, Boyle waived his no-trade clause and agreed to the deal, which is pending NHL approval.
In return, the Lightning will receive 23-year-old defenseman Matt Carle and
two draft picks. TSN also reported that Tampa Bay defenseman Brad Lukowich
will be going to San Jose in the trade. Boyle, who signed a six-year, $40 million extension just before the trade deadline in February, was limited to four goals in 37 games last season thanks to a freak accident. A skate fell on him in the locker room, severely cutting his wrist. A member of Tampa Bay's Stanley Cup-winning team in 2004, Boyle has registered 76 goals and 216 assists in 523 career games with Florida and Tampa Bay.
