Sabres ink GerbeBuffalo, NY (Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to terms with forward Nathan Gerbe, who will forgo his senior year at Boston College. The 20-year-old from Oxford, Michigan led the nation in scoring last season with 68 points in 43 games, including 35 goals. The Hobey Baker Award finalist, who is a diminutive 5-foot-5 and 165 pounds, led the Eagles to the NCAA title last season. A 2005 draft pick of the Sabres, Gerbe tallied five goals and three assists in the Frozen Four, earning Most Outstanding Player honors as BC won the championship with a 4-1 win over Notre Dame, in which he scored twice.
