Stars sign D Grossman to extension

Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - The Dallas Stars signed defenseman Nicklas Grossman to a two-year, $1.95 million dollar contract extension Monday.

Grossman, whose current entry-level deal was set to expire at the end of the 2007-08 season, will make $900,000 next season and $1.05 million in 2009-10.

The 23-year-old Swede registered seven assists and 22 penalty minutes in 62 games with Dallas this season.

"Nicklas has played very well on our blueline this season and we are very excited about his development," said co-general manager Les Jackson. "We look forward to his continued progress over the next two seasons."
