Stillman lands with Panthers

Sunrise, FL (Sports Network) - The Florida Panthers agreed to terms with veteran forward Cory Stillman on a three-year contract Tuesday.

Stillman split last season with the Hurricanes and Senators, picking up 24 goals and 65 points in 79 games.

"Cory will be a tremendous addition to our team, bringing with him a wealth of character, leadership and playing experience," said Florida general manager Jacques Martin. "He possesses strong offensive abilities, plays responsibly on both ends of the ice and will be an asset to our club on special teams."

The 34-year-old winger has participated in 839 NHL games for the Flames, Blues, Lightning, Hurricanes and Senators since the lockout-shortened 1994-95 season. The eight-time 20-goal scorer has hit the net 234 times, adding 368 assists.

A proven playoff performer, Stillman added 19 goals and 51 points in 82 postseason contests. He won back-to-back Stanley Cups with Tampa Bay in 2004 and Carolina in 2006 -- the first player since Claude Lemieux with New Jersey (1995) and Colorado (1996) to win in consecutive seasons with different clubs.
