Fields set for Breeders Crown at MohawkCampbellville, ON (Sports Network) - The fields have been set for the four Breeders Crown races at Mohawk Raceway for older trotters and pacers. The four events will be raced on Saturday, September 1. Defending Breeders Crown winner Lis Mara is back to defend his title in the $540,000 Pace for older males. Nine pacers will contest the one-mile event. Lis Mara will face, among others, two-time Crown winner Boulder Creek and 2006 U.S. Pacer of the Year Total Truth. Lis Mara will start from post four with driver Brian Sears. Boulder Creek will be driven by Dan Dube from post two and Total Truth will leave from post seven with Yannick Gingras driving. Here is the field for the Breeders Crown Pace in post position order: Took Hanover, John Campbell; Boulder Creek, Daniel Dube; Mister Big, David Miller; Lis Mara, Brian Sears; Zooka, Mario Baillargeon; Mypanmar, John Campbell; Total Truth, Yannick Gingras; Artistic Fella, Tim Tetrick and Western Shore, Mark MacDonald. The $250,000 Breeders Crown Mare Trot will be headed by elimination winners Snazzy Millie and Mystical Sunshine. Mystical Sunshine is the defending winner of the race which has a field of 10. Here is the the complete field for the Breeders Crown Open Mare Trot in post position order: Passionate Glide, Ron Pierce; Mystical Sunshine, Dan Dube; Snazzy Millie, Chris Christoforou; Pure Ivory, Steve Condren; Lavec Dream, Yannick Gingras; Birminghim, Jody Jamieson; Susies Magic, Dave Miller; Spare Time, Rozie Rick; Hidden Viggorish, Dave Miller and Freeze Frame, Luc Ouellette. Driver Jody Jamieson won both elimination races for the $363,000 Breeders Crown Mare Pace. The one-mile pace next Saturday will have 10 females in the field. It was the second win of the year for Ideal Weather, who has made 13 starts and earned $101,584. She is owned by Sylvia Burke, Lawrence Karr and Thomas Cherichello and will start from post two. Double Dream N has eight victories this year for $184,340 in 21 starts. She is owned by Redmak Enterprises and Briarcliff Manor and will leave from post three. Here is the field for the Mare Pace in post position order: Darlins Delight, Yannick Gingras; Ideal Weather, Jody Jamieson; Double Dream N, driver to be announced: Invitro, Paul MacDonell; Vysoke Tatry, Rick Zeron; Marnie Hall, Dan Dube; Armbro Dancer, Ron Pierce; Free, David Miller; My Little Dragon, Brian Sears and Moving Pictures, Mark MacDonald. Seven trotters will contest the $726,000 Breeders Crown Trot next week. Six males will be joined by Giant Diablo, the only mare entered for the one-mile race. Former Hambletonian winner Vivid Photo and Nat Ray winner Corleone Kosmos top the field. Vivid Photo will start from the outside post with trainer Roger Hammer driving. Corleone Kosmos will be driven by John Campbell from post five.
