Jackson increases stake in CurlinLouisville, KY (Sports Network) - Jess Jackson's Stonestreet Stables bought out another partner Thursday and now has an 80 percent ownership interest in Preakness and Breeders' Cup Classic winner Curlin. Jackson acquired the stake of investment banker George Bolton in a private sale. Financial terms of the purchase agreement were not released. The other 20 percent interest in Curlin is retained by the horse's original owners, Midnight Cry Stable. Jackson, who is the founder of the Kendall-Jackson Winery, owns Stonestreet Stables along with his wife, Barbara Banke. Earlier this year an 80 percent interest in Curlin was sold to Stonestreet Stables, Bolton and another former owner, Padua Stables, for a reported $3.5 million. Stonestreet Stables and Bolton then bought-out Padua Stables for an undisclosed sum in a deal announced November 6.
