San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Earthquakes signed Spanish forward Mikel Arce to a developmental contract, the team announced Friday. Arce, 24, has spent the past eight years playing at a number of clubs in Spain. He has spent time in the lower divisions at Real Sociedad and Numancia, while also playing for Alfaro, CD Logrones, Lemona, Calahorra and Constancia. He scored 20 goals during the 2007-08 season for CD Lourdes.

Lima joins the Earthquakes after spending the last two seasons with Italian team Brescia Calcio of the Serie B.
