AC Milan's Maldini may play one more season

Milan, Italy (Sports Network) - AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini is set to delay his retirement to continue for yet another season with the Rossoneri.

The 39-year-old defender had earlier stated that this campaign would be his last, but Maldini is now poised to bring up a quarter of a century at the San Siro.

"I am moving towards the decision to carry on playing and in the week I will go to the offices for discussions," Maldini told the Italian press.

"There's nothing official because there doesn't need to be while I am still under contract, but I am in agreement with vice president Adriano Galliani.

"I'm thinking about carrying on as my physical condition has improved and the club have asked me, more or less explicitly, to play for another season."
