Barca held to scoreless draw, fails to gain on leaders

Barcelona, Spain (Sports Network) - Barcelona failed to gain ground on Spanish La Liga leaders Real Madrid - who earned a 1-1 draw vs. Mallorca on Saturday - by being held to a scoreless draw with Getafe.

As a result, Barca stays seven points back in the title chase, although they move into second after Villarreal fell to Sevilla 2-0 on Sunday.

In other La Liga action on Sunday, Deportivo topped Racing, 3-1, Murcia edged Valencia, 1-0, Atletico Madrid outgunned Almeria, 6-3, Real Valladolid blanked Levante, 3-0, Betis dominated Zaragoza, 3-0, and Athletic Bilbao edged Espanyol, 1-0.
